Ex Nihilo
03:23

We were born nameless and free from harm, and nothing since has haunted us so wholly. Have you been told of the pain with which we endured our power? Or of the harmony with which, as we grew pregnant with our fear, we recited our demands: "a name! Dependence! Purpose!"
"Give us a name," we screamed at the sky. And the sky cried in return, "yes, father! Yes, mother! I am your lord and saviour!"
And how secure it felt to rest together in the arms of our son, stripped of our autonomy and freed from our uncertainty. We believed we had found a home in His garden, but our subsequent joy was suddenly mired by a feverish anticipation: "what of a name?"
God sat--calmly forming a spiral in the air with His finger, taunting us with time--and spoke clearly, "your name is Yesterday. You have no name."

Reversal

Retrace your steps. The slow suicide of all began atop a spiraling bridge from which we have yet to jump, though we were never content merely to cross. The meek have made their ascent, but one alone has had the courage to make the leap of faith:
God is dead. Who now shall inherit the Earth?
And will you progress? If we sever the regulating finger of God, will we restore the people's faith in action? Or are we confined to a homemade tomb?

Mea Culpa

Produce to consume: the formula for growing a fifth wheel has become a mainstay in our book of mistakes. Our eyes glisten, as our minds narrow, for no end seems in sight.
But tonight we have time at our feet, so let's decide: shall we dismantle these wheels, and burn the book that helped build them? Or take our chances and live out the ride? There's nothing we need that we haven't built before, and the dull complexion and rusty frame of our creation will go unnoticed as the familiar whir of the engine tells us the truth:
This is the end.

Rebirth
02:29
|

There's no greater crime against tomorrow than holding it captive to the standards of today. Running laps in a cell keeps us occupied, but it doesn't move us forward.
Stasis is a circle in time, time in a circle. If we accept the masquerade, we are no more free than with our feet in chains.
Eyes open, we are Tomorrow. Chins high, we are Tomorrow. We are not alone if we trust one another. We have nothing to lose but our chains.
